Saucony // Grey Pack

Client: Saucony
Service: 3D animation and stills
Timeline: 4 weeks

Production: Numechi Studio
Animation and Lighting: Andrea Altran
Shooting and edit: Giulia Bertolazzi

A cinematic video and a series of four still images come together to recreate the iconic atmosphere of the first moon landing, with an unexpected twist.
Set within a meticulously crafted lunar simulation, the story unfolds through controlled lighting and evocative compositions, gradually revealing a lone astronaut who has reached the moon ahead of NASA.
Branded by Saucony, the protagonist becomes the symbol of anticipation, innovation, and exploration.
The project was conceived to introduce the Grey Pack: two existing Saucony silhouettes reimagined through lunar-inspired tones and textures, unveiled through a narrative that blends heritage, imagination, and a bold redefinition of “first steps.”

Project Scope

Challenge

Numechi Studio needed to launch Saucony’s Grey Pack with a campaign that referenced the moon landing aesthetic without falling into predictable studio visuals.
The brief called for something cinematic and unexpected, with high creative expectations from a brand with very limited experience in 3D production and a tight delivery timeline.

Solution

Working with Numechi Studio, I helped develop a concept that blends cinematic storytelling with technical precision.
The opening sequence recreates the moon landing through fully CG scenes, with every key asset built from scratch in 3D, from the lunar surface to the astronauts and the shoes.
The film then transitions back to Earth, shifting into live action footage of runners wearing the second Grey Pack model. This contrast between CG and real world visuals created a distinctive narrative arc while keeping production efficient and impact high.
